ASAP and ASAP LOCK Generations - Compatibility with ASAP’SORBERs
ASAP and ASAP LOCK are generally used with an ASAP’SORBER energy absorber. Each generation of ASAP or ASAP LOCK is compatible and certified with the same generation of ASAP’SORBER. Tests were conducted to validate certain compatibility across generations.

ASAP’SORBER models made before 2014
All ASAP’SORBERs made before 2014 have exceeded their lifespan. We no longer recommend downloading their Instructions for Use.

Compatibility across generations

Combination tested and certified by an independent notified body in accordance with the applicable standard(s). By definition, this combination can only include the devices and the ASAP’SORBERs of the same generation.
Combination tested and approved by an internal laboratory and/or an independent notified body in accordance with relevant tests and applicable standards, but cannot be fully certified due to the inability to update the markings and instructions for use of devices that are no longer manufactured.

All ASAP’SORBERs made before 2014 have exceeded their lifespan. Therefore, they do not appear in the following tables.
Compatibility between ASAP/ASAP LOCK and different generations of ASAP’SORBER
The following table is valid for rope access use (EN 12841 for example) and for fall-arrest (EN 353-2 or ANSI Z359.15 for example).
Always comply with the weight limit indicated in the Instructions for Use or in the markings on your ASAP’SORBER.
Specific case of ropes used in an EN 353-2 system
With the ASAP in an EN 353-2 system, the ASAP’SORBER can be positioned either on the user or at the rope anchor.
The regulatory framework of the 2014 ASAP has been updated multiple times between 2024 and 2026, notably, the PARALLEL and AXIS were included in the EN 353-2 certification until 2019.
The above table shows the last certification status at the time production of this generation of ASAPs ended.
