October 10, 2014 - Favorites for the title, Kilian Jornet and Laura Orgué did not disappoint.

Kilian took home a historic three world titles at the Skyrunner World Series by winning all three events - Sky, Ultra, and Vertical - at what is now considered to be the equivalent of the trail running World Cup. With this triple-crown, Jornet once again made mountain sports history by being the first athlete to ever win three championships in one season.

"At the beginning of the season I never imagined that I would be able to win all three titles. I like being versatile and as strong as possible in every discipline. Nevertheless, I knew that it would be difficult, and I'm pretty happy now that I've done it. This is a nice reward for all of the hard work put in during the year and the fact that I consistently felt physically strong throughout the entire season," explained Kilian Jornet.

Although Jornet showed up at the event already a few points ahead of his rivals, the final rankings were determined in Limone, on a technical 3km long race course with 1100 m vertical gain, not really his specialty.

With more experience in this type of race, Laura Orgué finished off her extraordinary season. Laura placed second, after Dewelle, but had more than enough points to be crowned world champion for the third year in a row.
