Call for visual inspection of SIMBA and SWAN EASYFIT harnesses

Affected harnesses and location of the FAST LT PIN-LOCK buckle:

The FAST LT PIN-LOCK buckle is located on the back of all affected harnesses:

SWAN FREEFALL STEEL and STAINLESS harnesses are not affected.

Immediate steps required: 

  1. Stop all use and/or sales of these harnesses. 
  2. Immediately carry out the following visual inspection.

 

Visual inspection:

Verify the presence of the two rivets, upper and lower, on the FAST LT PIN-LOCK buckle on affected harnesses. 

Results of the visual inspection:

Case A: ✅ Two rivets present: Conforming buckle

You may resume using and/or selling this product.

 

Case B: ❌ Only one rivet present (upper or lower): Non-conforming buckle

Stop all use and/or sales of this product and quarantine it.

Contact your local Petzl after-sales service via the after-sales service section of the contact form. We will replace the harness at no charge.

My product is a SWAN FREEFALL STEEL or SWAN FREEFALL STAINLESS, am I affected by this call for inspection?

No, as these harnesses do not have FAST LT PIN-LOCK buckles.

Have there been any injuries associated with the products affected by this defect?

To date, no injuries have been reported to Petzl.

Is this call for inspection related to the ongoing recall of SWAN EASYFIT STEEL AND STAINLESS harnesses due to a non-conforming FAST LT buckle?

No, the defect related to this call for inspection, which concerns a missing rivet on the FAST LT PIN-LOCK buckle, is unrelated to the ongoing recall of SWAN EASYFIT STAINLESS and SWAN EASYFIT STEEL harnesses.

Can the SIMBA CLIMBING, SIMBA PARK, SWAN EASYFIT STEEL and STAINLESS harnesses delivered by Petzl after this call for inspection still present this defect?

We have taken the necessary steps to ensure that all SIMBA CLIMBING, SIMBA PARK, SWAN EASYFIT STEEL and STAINLESS harnesses sold after January 2026 are unaffected by this call for inspection (serial number after 26A 0000000 000).
