Energy absorbers are calibrated for a maximum fall distance (Hmax) of "twice the lanyard length." This maximum fall distance varies depending on the model. During a fall, if the connector can move along the anchor or if the anchor itself can move, the fall distance can exceed the allowed maximum.
Note:
Even if your ABSORBICA lanyard can absorb the energy of a fall at its maximum fall distance with an "acceptable" impact force of less than 6 kN, such a fall is not harmless. In all cases, the fall distance should be reduced as much as possible.
