ASAP and ASAP LOCK are fall-arrest devices: they do not support the user’s weight during their movements or work and serve only to arrest a potential fall. They follow the user unobtrusively.

The function test for each installation helps limit the chance of error (e.g. upside-down installation, using a malfunctioning device). The test must be carried out each time the device is installed on a rope.

For ASAP LOCK, verify that the LOCK function is not active before doing the test.

Once the ASAP or ASAP LOCK is on the rope, give the device a sharp downward pull. A quick hand movement can easily produce a speed of 2 m/s, and the device must block. If it doesn’t block, check the installation or inspect the condition of the device.

ASAP ou ASAP LOCK, faire coulisser l'appareil vers le haut.
ASAP ou ASAP LOCK, faire rapidement coulisser l'appareil vers le bas.
ASAP ou ASAP LOCK, blocage.

Unblocking: after the function test, unblock the wheel to enable normal movement on the rope. Apply light pressure of the wheel against the rope, while at the same time moving the device upward.

ASAP ou ASAP LOCK, déblocage.
