New ski touring standard: can I still use my METEOR, METEORA or SIROCCO helmet?
Since the end of 2025, a newly-published European standard has been in effect that covers the design of ski touring helmets (EN 18100: Helmets for ski mountaineers). Now that this standard has been published, can I still use my Petzl helmet for ski touring?
Beam quality
Aside from the various beam patterns, it is important to check their uniformity. Whatever the pattern, the beam of a Petzl headlamp is always uniform and therefore comfortable.
