General precaution: Added markings must not cover the original product markings (e.g. serial number, certification, or warning on the product).
Use only the smooth areas for stickers and other markings. Petzl stickers are okay to use. Do not apply paint, solvents, adhesives or self-adhesive labels, except those with water-based adhesive or Petzl stickers.
Marking is authorized only on the tags.
Only certain harnesses designed to be rentals or for adventure parks have dedicated marking areas.
The chemical make-up of markers, paints, adhesive tapes, and stickers may be incompatible with textile materials.
You can also use zip ties to attach tags. Make sure it does not interfere with proper usage of the product.
You can also use an electric engraving pen or laser (depth of less than 0.1 mm) on the frame on a "non-working" area:
Do not use a stamp or punch. The use of stamps or punches is strictly prohibited, as this type of marking may affect product performance, depending on the depth, force of impact, and selected area.
You can also mark your metal gear with a small amount of paint (paint pen or metal-writing paint) on a "non-working" area, for example on the major axis of the carabiner.
For marking a rope, only use markers that are specifically designed for this use.
