You will need 1.5 m of cord (in this video, we use 6 mm diameter cord). The choice of cord diameter must be based on the diameter of the rappel rope: there must be a sufficient difference in diameter between the Prusik cord and your rappel rope.
Note: Prusik performance may vary depending on the material of the cord and/or rope, and also on the use conditions (e.g. in a wet environment or on an icy rope).
It is important to carry out a compatibility test once you’ve made your Prusik.
