Accompanied descent rescue with the RIG
In case of a work emergency, a rapid evacuation solution for a single victim is an accompanied descent done by a co-worker.

The RIG can be used to control a 2-person descent, up to the maximum load of 200 kg. For improved control, the rope must pass through a braking carabiner.
The rescuer transfers the victim's weight to the rescuer's descender, then controls the tandem descent.
Example of a technique for transferring the victim's weight:
Victim suspended on his/her RIG
The rescuer descends on the rope that is not under tension.
The rescuer connects him/herself to the victim with a lanyard and removes the victim's ASAP (the rescuer's energy absorber must be suitable for two-person use).
The rescuer connects the victim's sternal point to his her/own RIG with a short link (lanyard or single carabiner).
The rescuer operates the victim's RIG to unload the victim's rope, transferring the victim's weight to the rescuer's RIG.
The rescuer removes the victim's RIG.
The rescuer controls the descent with his/her RIG and a braking carabiner.
