MAESTRO® L
Descender with integrated progress-capture pulley for loads up to 280 kg, compatible with 12.5 to 13 mm ropes
Remote control of the MAESTRO handle with a cord
The MAESTRO handle has a small hole for attaching a cord (e.g. AIRLINE cord).
Using pulleys with small-diameter rope or cord.
As part of their certification as PPE, Petzl pulleys are compatible with ropes greater than 7 mm in diameter. The use of thinner cords may be possible.
Using the TWIN RELEASE for a 3:1 Haul System
TWIN RELEASE was designed to be used in a 4:1 system. In certain situations, hauling with a 3:1 system can be advantageous, even though it offers a lower mechanical advantage.
Descending With Additional Braking
Ease of descent depends on the wear on the device, the rope that is used, and the load. Additional friction can help you avoid being surprised by the descent speed, for example on a new, thin rope. It can also help provide a more controlled and therefore comfortable descent.
Video - How to install and use TWIN RELEASE?
This video presents setting up a releasable haul system with the TWIN RELEASE progress-capture pulley.
Two MAESTRO, I’D or RIG used in parallel by a single operator.
The MAESTRO, I’D and RIG descenders can be used in parallel in rescue situations, mainly with long rope lengths and smaller rescue teams. This technique enables a single user to simultaneously operate two devices.
Accompanied descent rescue
In the event of a work emergency, a rapid evacuation solution for a single victim is an accompanied descent carried out by a co-worker.
Securing the MAESTRO with an ASAP for training.
In certain training or educational situations, a system may be installed to mitigate excessive descent speed or loss of control.
Tensioning a tyrolean with MAESTRO, I’D, RIG
Descenders are effective for tensioning a tyrolean as they provide high tension and an easy release. As with all high-performance systems, it’s essential to know their limits so as not to exceed them.
