  1. Raising of the NEST litter by a rescuer in counterbalance on ascenders. A rescuer controls the raise. A third person gives a backup belay with a second rope.
  2. The rescuer below gives slack with a descender. The backup belayer hauls the NEST litter, allowing it to tilt to a horizontal position with the help of the STEF.
  3. Recovery of the NEST by team members.
