ASAP LOCK and ASAP used for fall arrest during rope access work
Basic Techniques
It is common to switch from a rope access situation (progression on a two-rope system) to a fall arrest situation (progression on a structure with a mobile fall arrest device on a safety rope).
Warning
- Carefully read the Instructions for Use referenced in this Tech Tip before reading the Tech Tip itself. You must have read and understood the Instructions for Use to understand this supplementary information.
- Performing these techniques requires specific training. Work with a professional to confirm your ability to perform these techniques safely and independently before attempting them unsupervised.
- We provide examples of techniques related to your activity. Other techniques not described here may also exist.
The EN 12841 standard, which covers rope access usage with two ropes, does not address this situation.
ASAP and ASAP LOCK can be used for this purpose, with the same equipment configurations as those certified to EN 12841 (especially ASAP’SORBER 20, 40 or AXESS, EN1891 type A ropes tied to the anchor), following all of the usage precautions described in the Instructions for Use for these products.
