Puce titreThe Petzl Foundation

Founded in 2006, the Petzl Foundation's goal is to share the success of the company in the environment within which it interacts. It is chaired by Paul Petzl.

The Petzl Foundation supports projects of general interest and non-profit organizations in three different areas:
- Education and the reduction of risks related to the participation in vertical activities
- Preservation of the environment
- Support of fundamental research

With the extent of its reach within communities and its dedication towards public interest, the Petzl Foundation is an essential aspect of the Petzl Group in its implementation of social and environmental responsibility.

Puce titrePangaea : learn, act, explore

Launched in 2008, Pangaea is a project whose objective is to introduce young people around the world – the Young Explorers – to the most beautiful places on earth and show them the fragility of ecosystems and the impact of human activity on the environment.
This project is led by explorer Mike Horn.

The journey for each group of Young Explorers is an opportunity to teach them how to find solutions to an environmental problem, to take action to protect, clean and to collect data for further scientific research.

Through the Pangaea Project, Mike Horn hopes to train tomorrow's ambassadors for the planet.

Quotation marksWe will make this journey together, driven by our passion to achieve a common goal. I believe that we must begin to take concrete action to ensure that our planet will be respected by future generations. Quotation marks

Since 2006 Petzl America has also been making the Herabiner, a carabiner produced in collaboration with the Hera Foundation. One dollar from the sale of each Herabiner is donated to HERA's fight against ovarian cancer. In 2010, 5000 Herabiners were sold and have thus contributed to this cause
