GRIMPday 2009 Video

GRIMPday 2009: Rescue professionals with no fear GRIMPday is an international, multidisciplinary technical rope rescue competition which takes place every October in Namur. The fourth edition was a face-off between 23 teams, from Belgium, France, Great Britain, Switzerland and Germany. The participants were firefighters, soldiers, police officers, rescuers, etc.

Redwoods: The Super Trees in this month's National Geographic Magazine

This month's issue of National Geographic Magazine features an amazing feature story by Joel Bourne about the massive redwood trees in Northern California. In addition to the entralling article about these unique towering giants, there are several great videos on the web (many of which feature Petzl's tree climbing equipment), including a 'making-of' the cover shot - 84 images of a 300-foot tree stiched together.

Petzl on the Eiffel Tower

Since March, the Eiffel Tower has been undergoing a face-lift. As it does every seven years, the tower is getting repainted. Eighteen months of work are scheduled. For the painting, approximately twenty people have been working 200-300 meters above the ground: a worksite like no other, where there is no room for error.
