Petzl presents the new ALVEO range, two lightweight helmets for work at height, industry and rescue.

In early 2010, Petzl welcomed Chris Blakeley as the new director of V.axess, the Petzl Institute. V.axess is a training, information and research department of Petzl, designed to bring together the ideas and aspirations of mountain, rescue, and industry professionals to develop the vertical-access techniques of tomorrow. Blakeley brings many years of experience as an engineer, caver and climber, rope-access technician and trainer to V.axess. Blakeley will help Petzl get the most out of the innovative V.axess facility.

This year, the Grimpday, organized by the fire department of Namur (Belgium) took place on June 12th.

A recognized international event, this 5th edition gathered together the best teams worldwide in the field of rope rescue in Namur. New participants took up the challenge, with a total of 28 teams representing 9 countries, and various rescue services: firemen, civil protection, para-commandos, police, etc.

This year the arborist championship took place on June 12 and 13 in Prague, Czech Republic. The event was organized by the European Arborist Committee, in collaboration with the Czech subsidiary of ISA (International Society of Arboriculture).

Petzl America is currently offering hands-on workshops designed to address the needs of professional sales and customer service representatives, specialized trainers, safety specialists and work-at-height and rescue consultants.

In these workshops, participants will gain a better understanding of rope-based system solutions and equipment performance, as well as manufacturing processes and quality controls.

The new version of the GRILLON work positioning lanyard can be used in double or single modes.
It can be adapted to address different situations encountered in the field.

GRIMPday 2009: Rescue professionals with no fear

GRIMPday is an international, multidisciplinary technical rope rescue competition which takes place every October in Namur. The fourth edition was a face-off between 23 teams, from Belgium, France, Great Britain, Switzerland and Germany. The participants were firefighters, soldiers, police officers, rescuers, etc.
