In late October, 2012, Hurricane Sandy plowed into the northeastern United States, flooding coastal areas, destroying homes, disabling transportation infrastructure, and leaving millions without heat and power for days. Over 100 people lost their lives as a result of the storm.

Sunday October 7 at 13h25, V.axess Facility in Crolles, France. As a loud uproar of applause rises from all corners of the building, the Russian team Hyperborea Evpator from St Petersburg finishes first the final task and  claims the bell trophy of the Petzl RopeTrip.

The first Petzl RopeTrip is organized in our training center, next door from the headquarters. It is a great opportunity for the participants to visit the factory and to be involved in an original challenge and socialize with workers from other countries.

Timmy O'Neill is on a quest to get his PIXA 3 to the American Society of Safety Engineers Expo at the Colorado Convention Center, where he is scheduled to host a PIXA-tossing competition...

...But he forgot. 

So when Timmy gets a call from Petzl wanting to know where he is, the race is on to get to the Expo in time. Along the way, Timmy's PIXA 3 gets dropped, kicked, run over, and dunked. Luckily, the PIXA line of headlamps is built to withstand some serious abuse.

But does he make it to the ASSE Expo? Or is all lost?

GrimpDay’s 7th edition took place on May 12, 2012, in Belgium.
This international challenge brought together search and rescue teams from around the world.
 
One hundred and eighty search and rescue professionals (firefighters, military, police, etc.) from 30 teams met in Namur, Belgium. Each workshop focused on the specifics of search and rescue techniques in a hazardous environment. A flawlessly organized event and gorgeous weather made this edition a resounding success.

During a periodic inspection on a NEWTON harness, improperly positioned safety stitching was found on one of the loops of the sternal attachment point.

As a precautionary measure, Petzl is asking all of its customers to inspect the safety stitching on the loops of the sternal attachment point on all NEWTON harnesses.
