Jared Abrojena takes six medals at ITCC 2014 Masters' Challenge
Petzl team member Jared Abrojena had a great showing at the 2014 International Tree Climbing Championship (ITCC), including a win in the head-to-head footlock and third-place overall finish. The event took place the weekend of August 2nd, in conjunction with the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) tradeshow in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

GrimpDay's ninth edition took place on Saturday, June 7, 2014, in Namur, Belgium. Over time, the city has become the world capital for this international challenge for search and rescue in hazardous environments. This year GrimpDay, organized by the Namur Fire Department, drew more than 250 participants from the four corners of the planet. Petzl is proud to be one of GrimpDay's founding and technical partners, with the help of Alpitec, its agent in the Benelux countries.
Petzl RopeTrip: a resoundingly successful 2014 edition!
The second edition of the Petzl RopeTrip took place from May 29-31, 2014, in Uppsala, Sweden. The event brought together more than one hundred rope access specialists from around the world to discuss their profession and to share their broad range of experience. The rope access competition was the focal point of the gathering, allowing each team of rope access specialists to demonstrate their technical skills and ability to work well together. Following a strong performance in all disciplines, the Russian team ALPEX took first place the competition.

Petzl RopeTrip, new Rules: more gear and techniques allowed
The Petzl RopeTrip aims to bring together people from different countries and their varied rope access techniques. With this in mind, Petzl has altered The Rules regarding the "Conditions for access to challenges" (chapters 7 & 8) to allow each team to use their own gear and techniques.

The Eiffel Tower and a Disco Ball: an extraordinary work site and original photos
In 2012 photographer Stéphan Denys closely covered the sound and light system installation on the Eiffel Tower, especially the assembly and suspension of the "Queen of the Night." This nighttime work site, supervised by the rigging company Magnum, created a unique atmosphere around the Eiffel Tower.

Island of Madang, Papua New Guinea, a wonderful scientific expedition
The goal of the 2012 scientific expedition to the Island of Madang in Papua New Guinea was to conduct a biodiversity inventory (insects, plants, trees…), to collect epiphyte plants, and to compare different altitude zones. Two arborist-climbers participated in the expedition, Noui Baiben and Laurent Pierron.
