IT Director

Position Overview

The IT Director is responsible for the development and enhancement of the company’s primary enterprise software systems and for the overall supervision and management of the IT Department. The ideal candidate must have an outstanding ability to inspire and demonstrate a true teamwork philosophy, pertaining to the IT team, as well as across the entire Petzl organization. 

Essential Functions

• Develop the annual IT business strategy, plan and operating budget
• Serve as the primary systems architect and solution designer
• Serve as the point of contact for advanced support of the company’s ERP, business intelligence, budgeting, and supply chain software
• Serve as the project manager for large IT development projects
• Negotiate vendor prices and terms, approve all IT asset purchases 

Specific Duties

• Assist the President with IT strategic decisions & directions supporting short and long term business objectives 
• Supervise and develop two direct reports; administer performance reviews and professional development plans
• Participate as an integral part of the Management Team
• Collaborate with the IT team to:
  • Analyze potential changes to ERP system
  • Implement new system functionalities using internal and external resources, including managing contracted service providers
  • Develop company-wide IT policy and procedures 
  • Oversee month/year end closing procedures for Petzl America
  • Manage IT infrastructure 
  • Develop and manage complex budgets, resource allocation, planning, time management and training of personnel 

Technical Requirements

• ERP and Supply Chain Software – PRMS and BOSS preferred
• TCP/IP networking and IP telephony (ShoreTel) 
• Proficiency with servers running i5/OS or Windows
• Cloud -based services -  Salesforce.com and Google Apps preferred 

Education  

Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis on computer science or business, or equivalent experience. Masters degree preferred.

IT Support Specialist

Position Overview:

Petzl America's IT Department is seeking an IT Support Specialist who will set up, monitor, and maintain server and network hardware and software, and provide end-user desktop and mobile device technical support, as well as write business reports.

Responsibilities

• Provide front line Help Desk support
• Troubleshoot basic networking and connectivity issues
• Install, configure, and maintain Windows XP/7/2003/2008 and Mac systems
• Generate business related reports
• Evaluate new hardware and software technologies

Requirements

• Strong communication skills with a keen sense of customer service
• A logical and methodical approach to problem solving
• Effective network troubleshooting skills
• Ability to explain technical subject matter clearly and accurately
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Creativity, flexibility, professionalism, and determinationˇ
• Experience with databases, networks, and desktop operating systems
• Experience with one or more of the following is a plus:
• SQL Server,ˇGoogle Apps,ˇPRMS / BOSS,ˇSalesforce,ˇCognos Reporting and PowerPlay
• Education/Certifications
• Associate degree with an IT focus
• Certification in current Microsoft products is a plus
• And/or equivalent combination of education and experience

Ideal Experience

Varied background in network systems, communications systems, data center operational support, desktop computing, and help desk management is ideal.

Position and Terms

The position is hourly, full-time.
