Petzl RopeTrip: a resoundingly successful 2014 edition!
The second edition of the Petzl RopeTrip took place from May 29-31, 2014, in Uppsala, Sweden. The event brought together more than one hundred rope access specialists from around the world to discuss their profession and to share their broad range of experience. The rope access competition was the focal point of the gathering, allowing each team of rope access specialists to demonstrate their technical skills and ability to work well together. Following a strong performance in all disciplines, the Russian team ALPEX took first place the competition.

Paul Robinson joined the Petzl athlete team in 2014, bringing over 15 years of climbing experience, including ascents up V15 and 5.15. Paul's obviously a crusher on the rock, but did you know he's also into surfing? Melloblocco, the world's biggest international bouldering event!
Melloblocco took place in the Val di Mello and Val Masino valleys in Italy from April 30 to May 4, 2014.
This 11th edition proved to be one of the most spectacular in the event's history, and for good reason. With an unbelievable 2600 climbers registering online, no less than 5000 people made the trip to these incredibly beautiful valleys. The "Mello-boulderers," from beginners to pros, enjoyed testing their mettle on the endless number of boulder problems in the area.
An ice and mixed climbing expedition with Philippe Batoux: "Canada Dry" on ice!
Every three years Philippe Batoux, high mountain guide and professor at ENSA (France's elite guide school), trains five young aspiring mountaineers in every alpine discipline: free and aid climbing, ice climbing, snow and mixed routes. An expedition always caps off the series of training clinics. This year, Maël Baguet, Kevin Peyre, Yoan Foulon, Eric Jamet, and Dimitry Munoz traveled with him to Canada.

Petzl RopeTrip, new Rules: more gear and techniques allowed
The Petzl RopeTrip aims to bring together people from different countries and their varied rope access techniques. With this in mind, Petzl has altered The Rules regarding the "Conditions for access to challenges" (chapters 7 & 8) to allow each team to use their own gear and techniques.

Registration has been open for a week and there are already almost twenty teams from around the world signed up for the 2014 Petzl RopeTrip. France, Switzerland, and Brazil plan to host national pre-series events where the winners will earn their ticket to Sweden.

Petzl RocTrip 2014: follow the camper-trailer through Eastern Europe
For forty days and forty nights, from September 11 to October 20, 2014, we'll travel together through Romania, Bulgaria, the Republic of Macedonia, Greece, and Turkey. Every four or five days, we'll move the camper-trailer from one spot to another, from makeshift campsites in each host village to multi-pitch cliffs by way of amazing spots to boulder and deep water solo.
