The XION is our toughest all-around rope. The 10.1 mm diameter is extra durable and the weave is specially designed to offer an excellent hand and a suppleness similar to that of thinner ropes. In addition, the XION has 22% more sheath by weight than comparable ropes in the Petzl lineup. The XION is great for those who want the increased longevity of a larger-diameter rope without sacrificing ease of handling.

With its Lithium Ion Polymer CORE battery, the TIKKA XP2 CORE headlamp is designed for intensive use. This headlamp integrates two light sources as well as a Wide Angle lens with assisted open-close feature, allowing the user to choose between a long distance focused beam and flood beam proximity lighting. It is equipped with a white high-output LED and a red LED. The red LED provides back-up lighting useful for preserving night vision, or strobe lighting for increased safety.

This multi-purpose belay/rappel device is ultra-light (59 g, 25 % lighter than the REVERSO 3) and intuitive to use. V-shaped friction channels with asymmetrical lateral grooves adapt the friction to the type of rope for better control (ARC technology: braking control for twin, half and single dynamic ropes). Reverso mode for belaying one or two seconds with assisted braking.

Rifle over the years has become one of the most popular summer destinations in the Western United Sates. The two-mile long canyon is full of variety and a great community of climbers that gather there year after year. Many people are locals, from Carbondale, Glenwood Springs, Boulder, Vail, Grand Junction and, for the most part, make for a great experience. Aside from the people, the area is beautiful, full of lush green vegetation and trees split by a crystal clear stream.

It is 14h59, Sunday, May 20th, in Oike Park, by the peaceful shores of lake Kawaguchi. As the award ceremony reaches its end, Seiji Okamoto and Ryu Kodama, the last two runners, cross the finish line hand-in-hand to a huge round of applause and are welcomed onto the stage by both the organizing committee and the winners of the races. Ryu Kodama proudly shows a bag full of trash he picked up on the trail and carried all the way.
