Petzl RocTrip Argentina: Results of photo contests

To celebrate the ten years of Petzl RocTrips, Petzl invited climbers from many countries to have a chance to participate to this year's edition.
Photo contests to win a ticket to the Petzl RocTrip Argentina happened in nine countries with local media partners.

Congratulations, Thanks to all the participants, hundreds of great quality photos were posted and the judges had a hard time determining the winners. We are looking forward hosting the winners during the RocTrip at Piedra Parada, Chubut, Argentina from November 22-25 2012.

In the spring of 2011, the Himalayan Canyon Team made a first descent of one of the highest and most committing canyons on the planet: the Chamje Khola canyon. This time, at the Face de Rat, away from the summer crowds, Chris found a new line to bolt.

UTMB® 2012: 145 unforgettable hours

The North Face® Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc® (UTMB®) took place from August 27 to September 2, 2012, in and around the Mont-Blanc range. This truly international Trail Running celebration brought together, as always, athletes, spectators, and volunteers who share the same passion. The 4 races, 73 nationalities, 6000 runners, 2000 volunteers and harsh weather conditions made for a truly extraordinary event.

UTMB® 2012 Interview: Maud Gobert, 3rd place women’s category, talks about the CCC®

It’s 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 31, in the center of Courmayeur where the 1913 CCC participants started the 86km long, 5998 meter vertical adventure. Due to adverse weather conditions the course was modified, and followed the original path of the first edition. It rained throughout the entire race, and the summits even had a light dusting of snow. During the night temperatures dropped to minus 10 degrees Celsius.

Trail running - Dawa Sherpa wins the TDS at the 2012 UTMB©

The 1464 brave souls participating in the TDS (Traces des Ducs de Savoie) took off on Thursday, August 30, at 7:00 a.m. in Courmayeur, Italy, for a 112km, 7150 vertical meter adventure. The winter-like conditions made the course especially difficult this year. Dawa Sherpa, Team Petzl member, was the first to arrive in Chamonix at 9:37 p.m., with a time of 14 hours 37 minutes. Lionel Trivel and Antoine Guillon crossed the finish line not too long after at 10:05 p.m.
