Sono passati dieci anni dalla sua invenzione e il concetto di Petzl RocTrip è sempre stato quello di realizzare un'azione benefica per la comunità degli arrampicatori. Un lavoro portato avanti con l'aiuto dei chiodatori che vogliamo ringraziare in modo particolare.

Ecco le prime immagini video del Petzl RocTrip Cina che, alla fine di ottobre, ha preso vita a Gétu, nella provincia di Guizhou. Questo video dura 3 minuti ed è un condensato di immagini di arrampicata sporiva e su vie lunghe, in attesa della versione finale che durerà circa 20 minuti ed uscirà in primavera.

Gabriele Moroni our italian team athlete, has finally redpointed the route named "Coup de Bambou" (9a), one of the hardest picthes in the Great Arch! Here are some words from his personnal blog :

La geografia dei settori di scalata a Gétû è molto semplice. Quando si scende lungo il Getu He (fiume di Getu) si trova sulla sinistra la Zona A con cinque settori, la Zona B con sei settori di falesia e due di vie lunghe. Infine, al termine della strada asfaltata, ancora all'interno del Parco, si trova la Zona C che comprende il Grande Arco ed i settori vicini, sei di falesia e due di vie lunghe.

Mai prima d'ora il Petzl RocTrip si è integrato così profondamente con la cultura locale. Gli ingredienti sono stati: passione, divertimento ed esperienze da condividere. Il Petzl RocTrip Messico 2010 ha radunato scalatori da ogni parte del mondo a El Chonta e Las Peñas de Jilotepec, passando per le piramidi Azteche di Teotihuacán.

The Petzl Roc trips get better and better, bigger and bigger. This year was no exception, with single pitch routes 100m long, I don't think they get any longer. I was invited again, obviously as the token Brit, there for dry humour and poor dress sense and perhaps because I've won a few trips, even up against the likes of Sharma and Andrada. Fortunately they hadn't spotted it was clearly either a fluke or involved some serious cunning. On performance alone I think I'd be lucky to scrape in!
