Il 4 maggio 2011, i giovani esploratori, insieme alla squadra di Mike Horn, sono stati lasciati nel luogo di partenza per andare verso il Polo Nord. Durante i primi giorni il meteo è stato clemente ed ha permesso di scoprire e godersi il luogo in cui si sono «immersi» per quindici giorni.


Or the God Of all Traverses? I’m not the fittest of
climbers, but it’s not often that I turn up at a cliff and only manage one
route before crawling off exhausted! But the mega traverse at Craig-y-Longridge
is way longer than the average route!

The Quarry Man

This route is the stuff of legends! And climbed by the
legend Johnny Dawes. Blasted into fame in the film Stone Monkey with a Zappa
sound track that elevated the route above every other in the quarries. Even the
simple name blatantly indicates that this isn’t just another slab or wall. This
is THE masterpiece, climbing out from the biggest hole via the biggest
challenges.

After 4 days in Zangmu we leave toward Everest basecamp. From Tingri we
first take the same way like to Cho Oyu.  After 15 minutes the driver
turns left. Now we are definitively on the way to the Everest. The
basecamp is somehow surreal. The first thing what strikes me was the

Paulo Grobel si trova alla pendici del Cho Oyu (8201 m). Dal campo base ci ha detto qualcosa in più sulla prima fase del progetto "The Cho Oyu Exprience".

Il 31/03 e l' 1/04/2011 Rolando Larcher, Luca Giupponi e Nicola Sartori hanno completato l'apertura, e poi l'hanno salita tutti e tre in RP, Pompa Funebre (150m, 8b max, 7a+ obbl.) la via che, il 21/03/09, Larcher e Giupponi avevano cominciato ad aprire, insieme a Maurizio Oviglia, sulla parete NE del Monte Perllegrino (Palermo, Sicilia).
