I love my Gri Gri! In addition to being a climbing nut for many years I also work at a climbing gym and have nearly worn out my Gri Gri in just two short years. I can't wait to get one of these new Gri Gri 2's and am wondering if any may be made availible for those who work in the industry at a discounted price or as a beta release earlier than 2011.

Sorry but there is no "beta release" before 2011...
About the price, you can have the price for any climbing instructor (see with your local dealer).
About the device : if you are using the GRIGRI for professional use (like rigging, rope access, tree care, confined spaces, pylons etc.) that's better to use our professional devices :
- the RIG (http://www.petzl.com/en/pro/self-braking-descenders/rig)
- or the I'D (http://www.petzl.com/en/pro/self-braking-descenders/id-s)

The GRIGRI 2 delivery for Europe is scheduled for early 2010, but in some areas of the world (USA, Far East, Asia...) it will arrive for spring 2010.

Grigri 2 will be leaving our wharehouse in France Jan 15 2011, depending of the country where you live it will take a bit more time to reach your retail store.

Hello Adam,

Yes we have started to deliver all our distributors with new Grigri 2, give them a few days to reach our distributor's warehouses and then an extra few days for those grigri 2 to reach the retailer's shelves in the UK.
