The 2009 European Tree Climbing Championships in took place on June 13 and 14 in Malmo, Sweden. This competitiion gathered 55 tree professionals from across Europe to compete in several different cateogies: foot lock rope climbing, limb walking, precision limb tossing and aerial rescue, etc.

Elagage 

Competitors were judged not only on their speed but also on their safety and the techniques they used.

For this year, the winners were:

  • Women: Anja Erni (Switzerland)
  • Men: Jon Turnbull (Great Britain)

 
The good weather attracted hundreds of specators to the compeition site in downtown Malmo to watch the acrobatic maneuvers.
