The next Pangaea adventure has started: destination North Pole

On Thursday, April 28, 2011, an adventure to the North Pole started for the seven young people who remained at Château d'Oex following the selection process in February. Mike Horn immediately overwhelmed the young explorers by tasking them with a very important stage of this type of expedition: taking an inventory of everything (shoes, skis, harnesses, clothing…).

Hailing from Alexandria, VA, Sasha picked up climbing 11 years ago, after her brother’s birthday party, when she was just 7 years old.

French Rope Access Championships: A successful first edition!

Saturday, 19 March 2011 – since the very first hour the hall of V.axess is alive with the sound of carabiners, descenders and ascenders. In this building, Petzl welcomes the first "Championnat de France des Cordistes" (French rope access championships) organized by the Syndicat Français des Entreprises de Travaux en Hauteur (SFETH, French rope access union).

A tribute to Guy Lacelle


This film commemorates the life of Guy Lacelle, who was regarded as one of the world's leading ice climbers. In 2009, at the age of 54, Lacelle was killed by an avalanche in Bozeman, Montana. A pioneer in the ice climbing world, Lacelle was the first to show what can be done on vertical ice and established some of the most difficult ice climbs in the world.

When standing still they seem to blend in with this immense, wild and incredibly beautiful mountain.
