Petzl RopeTrip : presentation of venues
V.axess is a place for exchange and experimentation conceived by Petzl and dedicated to professionals working in the mountains, industry, and rescue. The building, constructed in 2008, is used mainly for hands-on training and allows Petzl to develop the vertical access techniques of tomorrow.

It offers more than 1500 m2 of floor space, as well as a complex of internal and external stairways, alleys, tilting climbing walls, platforms, and beams. The internal and external surfaces of the building are equipped to simulate situations encountered in the vertical world.
V.axess also houses a 30 meter tower, confined spaces, and vertical exterior surfaces that can be used to create icy or flowing water conditions, as well as 50 kW fans capable of generating winds of more than 35 km/h.

V.axess also hosts events, for example the French rope access technicians championship organized by the SFETH. Here is the video of the 2011 event that will give you a good idea of the possibilities offered by V.axess for the Petzl 2012 RopeTrip.
