Retrofit Pixa 3R Battery Pack
Wed, 02/11/2011 - 19:46 — Philip Barker (not verified)Re: Retrofit
Mon, 14/11/2011 - 11:25 — community_managerActually, the battery developped for the PIXA 3R is not compatible with the other model of the range. This is a dedicated battery.
The rear cover of the PIXA 3R is not the same than the others PIXA. So mechanically it is not possible to integrate this rechargeable battery on the other PIXA. And in reverse, it is not possible to use standard AA in the PIXA 3R
We made this choice, because there are big constraints to make an headlamp (working with standard batteries) compatible with rechargeable battery. There is not enough space in the rear cover developped for AA to integrate a rechargeable battery providing the same energetic capacity and it will be necessary to use another piece to make it compatible. The main consequence is : At the end the product is bigger.
That's why we made the choice to develop a dedicated battery , but keeping the same product's size, and providing the same energetic capacity than the other models working with standard AA...
So the rechargeable battery would be available separately as an accessory for the PIXA 3R only. And , as the charging dock is included in each packaging with the headlamp, this product is considered as a spare part and is not sold in shop.
The only accessories sold separately are: the rechargeable battery and the car charger => only for PIXA 3R.
The POCHE and RUBBER, => compatible with all the PIXA.
Sincerely
Use of PIXA charging dock in vehicles
Sun, 29/01/2012 - 23:04 — Thomas (not verified)will the charging dock be ready for use for 12 and/or 24 volts power supply?
Assuming the charging dock will be used in car (mounted in an upright position, with a adhesive tape or similar) will the lamp be kept in place, locked in the dock? Or does it just rest on the dock whilst the dock standing on desk?
Kind regards
Thomas
RE: Use of PIXA charging dock in vehicules
Mon, 06/02/2012 - 17:49 — community_managerYes the charging dock will be ready for use with 12V/24V. We also sell a car charger as an accessory.
The charging dock can't be used in upright position, because there's no lock function of the headlamp. There are holes for 2 screws to set the charging dock on a work bench, but there is not adhesive tape sold with the product.
The headlamp stay correctly in place when plugged on the charging dock when used on the passager seat for example.

PIXA 3 vs. PIXA3R
Tue, 17/07/2012 - 13:07 — Immo (not verified)"Burn time can be doubled by using Lithium Ion batteries or rechargeable Ni-MH batteries". This is what is stated for the PIXA 3. Does this mean that the normal PIXA 3 will actually outperform the PIXA 3R in terms of burn time if rechargeable AA's are used?
The only slight advantage (3R) in terms of performance would then be the standard, efficiency and power settings the 3R has plus the ergonomic advantages of the dock charger and not having to take the batteries out to recharge.
Thanks,
Immo
Re
Fri, 14/09/2012 - 10:00 — community_managerPlease accept our apologies for such a very late reply.
You are right Pixa 3 will outperform the 3R in terms of burn times. This is due to the technologie difference between rechargeable NimH or Lithium with the technologie used in the Li ion accu. As you said "The only slight advantage (3R) in terms of performance would then be the standard, efficiency and power settings the 3R has plus the ergonomic advantages of the dock charger and not having to take the batteries out to recharge." This is without doubt a serious advantage for users that need a headlamp on daily basis.
Thank you for participation.
