2005: Squamish, Canada

« Cacodemon fury »

Under the eye of the "Chief"

Another legendary North American site is chosen. It is in Squamish, British Columbia, Canada, on incredible granite... Everything is accessible in close proximity: boulders, sport climbing, trad crack climbing and big wall climbing on The Chief. As is common in North America, the funds generated by this event are destined for the Canadian organization for the protection of climbing sites, The Climbers' Access Society of British Columbia.

The event takes place on both the boulders and routes. For this occasion, several new sectors are opened, notably at the base of The Chief. An ultimate route is put up on the giant Cacodemon boulder; it is named The DreamCatcher... but it is not caught by the climbers during the Petzl RocTrip. Chris Sharma will return to siege the route and will end up sending it in September; proposed grade 5.14d/9a.

This year, it is Timmy O’Neill who presents his very unique vision of the Petzl RocTrip.
