VIDEO - Wowo, caving in Papua New Guinea
Whether in France, in one’s home country, or on an expedition to a faraway land, the desire to explore remains the reason why cavers cave. Certain cavers have the privilege of discovering new terrain, to be the first to set foot in uncharted territory, to map and to name the formerly unknown. Here is a video of the Wowo expedition that took place in February 2012, in the Nakanai Mountains.
Petzl, the book!

Granite party in Frey, Argentina
Just after the unforgettable Petzl RocTrip in Piedra Parada, Argentina, a gaggle of climbers chose to stay in country for a while rather than head straight home. In order to "decompress", a dozen members of Team Petzl spent a few days in Bariloche, an ideal stop along the road back to Buenos Aires.
VIDEO - Sasha DiGiulian sends "Era Vella" (5.14d - 9a) in Margalef
Last spring, Petzl Team member Sasha DiGiulian, became the first female to redpoint Chris Sharma’s Era Vella (9a/14d) in Margalef, Spain. Sasha is one of a handful of women in the world to climb at that grade and remains the only America woman to do so. Filmmakers Andy Mann and Keith Ladzinski were on hand to capture the process.

Ice climbing: events all around the world
Over the weekend of January 12-13, 2013, the promotion team and Petzl Team climbers took off to take part in multiple ice climbing events across the planet. Of note were Ice Climbing Ecrins in the Hautes-Alpes region of France, the Ouray Ice Festival and its Elite Mixed Comp in Colorado, the Ice Climbing World Cup in South Korea, and the Youth World Championships in Saas Grund, Swizterland.

Ouray Ice Fest 2013 Wrap Up
It was well below freezing in the Ouray Ice Park, but in the half-warmth of the winter sun, a gloveless Jeff Mercier climbed through a section of overhanging artificial wall festooned with old-school mountaineering ice axes and dense foam blocks. He alternated between whacking the picks of his ERGO ice tools into the foam, and gently hooking and mono-pointing into the spike holes of the dangling ice axes.
