Newly modified versions of the NOMIC and ERGO ice axes are available

Newly modified versions of the NOMIC and ERGO ice axes are available and currently being shipped to all Petzl distributors.
The new versions are for sale and can also be exchanged with the 2010 versions of the NOMIC and ERGO with serial numbers between 10208 and 10329. See the information from 21 December 2010.

Improvements

Upgrades have been made to the construction and strength of the GRIPREST to meet Petzl quality requirements.

Exchanging 2010 versions

2010 versions of NOMIC and ERGO with serial numbers between 10208 and 10329 are covered by the Petzl warranty and can be exchanged for the new versions. This warranty procedure applies to all new, used or repaired tools with serial numbers between 10208 and 10329.

Can the Griprest be used as an anchor or belay point?
We do not recommend this because the Griprest is not an anchor point. It does not have the strength that is needed to hold a dynamic belay. But everyone should make their own decisions and evaluate the risks according to each situation.
