I highly recommend Japan, too. So much awesome ice, a lot of it quite accessible. Plenty of stuff that has surely never been climbed (or probably ever seen by a climber). And incredible hospitality to boot. Iceland also gets my thumbs up. I lived there for a year - wonderful country. I wish I was ice climbing then!
