As most of electronics devices using "batteries", it's recommended to remove batteries from lamp for prolonged stotage "Prolonged storage" means several months. Our products are designed to have a consumption (OFF Lamp) the lower is possible. I'don't know how long is the storage time in your case. If it is less than 6 months, don't hesitate to contact our After-sales service. "even if the lamp has been used only a few times" : we need to have the duration of your use to have a better analyse.
