Petzl's battle against counterfeiting and our manufacturing policy, by Paul Petzl

We have recently identified some copies from China 'identical' to four items of Petzl's Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). These copies, noncompliant with our standards, are a real danger for the user. Unfortunately, from the outside, they are indistinguishable from an original Petzl product. Petzl immediately launched an information campaign throughout its commercial network and for its clients, as well as legal measures to identify and stop the culprits.

Labor of Love: Arborist Climber

In the spring of 2010, arborist climber Xavier Ubeda went to work with some trees on a property on Moines Island in the Gulf of Morbihan. It was here that he assisted Raphaël Dubuc and Alain Gourmaud, two instructors in the profession of arborist climbing. The goal of the day was to trim large dead branches from pine trees (Pinus radiata) that overhung a footpath along the coast.

Girivihar International Bouldering Competition

From January 23 to 25  the city of Mumbay hosted the 8th edition of Girivihar International Bouldering Competition. Gathering over a hundred competitors  the unique bouldering competition of India moved a step higher. Petzl and our Indian distributor (Allied Safety) support this event, and regularily sends team members to participate : this year Philipe Ribiére represented the team.  Report from Vaibhav Mehta chief route setter on the event.
