VIDEO - Oule Waterfall Ice Climbing (V+, 5+) by Erwan Lelann - Petzl Promotion Manager

Sometimes you find treasures right in your backyard. The excellent ice climbing conditions in the Alps last winter allowed for a rare ascent of the seldom frozen Oule Waterfall, near the Petzl Headquarters. From his office window Erwan Lelann, Petzl's Promotions Manager, had been scoping out the line as it formed. Finally on Valentine's Day 2012 he got his chance. And here's the video...

Petzl RocTrip Argentina: More photos and a Big Thanks!!

By now calm has probably returned to Piedra Parada. The 1300 climbers have left, the winds have erased the footprints and the canyons no longer echo with the jangling of gear and the shouts of "Allez!" or "Venga!" After the 2012 Petzl RocTrip that took place November 22-25, what's left?

Petzl RocTrip Argentina: D. Benegas on his 1993 FA of Piedra Parada

Damian Benegas, the famous Argentinian alpinist, has climbed some of the biggest mountains all over the world: in the Himalayas, South America, and Africa. Along with this twin brother, Willie, they have done numerous technical first ascents. Perhaps less well known is the fact that he was the first to summit the iconic 200-meter high Piedra Parada nearly twenty years ago via the route 'Sueno Lento", with his partner Pablo de la Fuente.

Lionel Daudet-DodTour: High voltage for the finish

By the end of November, Lionel Daudet will have probably finished his "Tour de France" by the boundaries of the country. Starting from the summit of Mont-Blanc the 10th of August 2011, "Dod" took over a year to strictly follow France's border. Month after month following the line only powered by his legs and arms, without ever being farther than a few meters, Lionel Daudet is now "the specialist" of the border. Guillaume Vallot and his brother Etienne, spent a few days tied on Lionel's rope while he was crossing the Queyras massif.

 Living on the ranch

Looking at a high number of registred climbers (>1000), in order not to overcrowd the climbing sectors it will be wise to take advantage of the full day light (05H00-22H00).
