It's come to our attention that a few issues have arisen with the photo category of the TIKKA² contest. As a result, we are making a few changes to the website to prevent future abuse:

For the 4th week of the contest, we once again received a lot of great photos and videos from participants.
Participants who submitted the five highest scoring photographs and the top two videos will all receive TIKKA PLUS² headlamps.

Another round of great photos! And videos are starting to come in.

The results are in for this week's winners of the TIKKA² - Power of Light photo contest! Below are the four images that received the highest score from the public between November 7 and 14. Winning photographers will receive a new TIKKA PLUS² headlamp.

The Borneo project has begun!

With 736 000 km² of land mass, Borneo is the third largest island in the world after Greenland and New Guinea. It's divided between the countries of Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei. The population of the island is about 10 million,  making for a population density of 16 inhabitants/km².

"A route of around 2300m, 45 pitches (+ some simul climbing, maybe 25% of the route), ED+, mostly ice/mixed and snow, a few pitches with just rock. Many very delicate snow ridges/walls/flutes to climb or traverse, fantastic gullies and mixed climbing, many vertical sections; a very committing route, complicated abseils during the descent and also we had to climb from a gully back onto the base of the first tower (which we avoided by a 60m abseil on the way up).

The annual meeting of the International Commission for Alpine Rescue took place September 22-27 in Zermatt, Switzerland. It brings together mountain rescue organizations from all over the world and this year it was organized by the Organisation Cantonale Valaisanne des Secours (OCVS), whose purpose is to help ensure fast, effective rescue response in the popular Valais region of Switzerland.
