On Friday, August 30, 2013, one hour before the UTMB started, the streets of Chamonix swarmed with spectators enthralled with the beat rhythm of the Batucada music, all the while runners remained focused as they sauntered up to the starting line. Two such completely different moods in one place are what make this world trail running gathering so magical. At 16:30 the thousands of spectators in the town center cheered ever louder to provide an encouraging send-off to the 2469 runners participating in this great loop around Mont-Blanc.

UT4M: Grenoble’s Ultra a great success!Thu, 29/08/2013 - 08:07 — Petzl
An ambitious but successful wager for this first edition of the Ultra Tour des 4 Massifs. Three courses, 4 climbs to an altitude of almost 2400 meters, 10,000 meters of vertical gain, and more than 950 participants for this first edition! Petzl would like to express its gratitude to both the participants and organizers of the UT4M…

To celebrate 20 years of pulling down hard, the "Tout À Blocs" (TAB) bouldering contest wanted to make a lasting impression. What better way to celebrate this anniversary edition than to once again organize an international open bouldering competition in Argentière-la-Bessée, France.
From July 24-28, 2013, the Pays des Ecrins area of the Southern French Alps beat to the rhythm of a fantastic climbing festival: bouldering in Ailefroide, a kids contest, and an International Open in the middle of Quartz Square.
